How it all started…
Cross Travel Peru was formed in 2017 by a group of experienced tour guides, coming from different rural communities of Cusco – Peru . With extensive experience in the tourism sector.
One of the main founders, Javier, a professional guide with more than 8 years of experience in adventure trekking and cultural tours, worked in different agencies before giving life to his own dream. Motivated by his passion and his desire to improve the quality of tourism in Peru, he decided to found Cross Travel Peru, with the purpose of offering personalized trips that respect culture, nature and local communities.

Our guides
Specialized in cultural tourism, nature and adventure tourism, our guides are selected from universities and specialized institutes, fluent in English, with 5 to 12 years of experience in different routes in the region, skilled in handling groups under pressure, experts in first aid and emergency planning. In addition, most of them come from different Andean communities, bringing with them the Andean heritage culture with a lot of knowledge of Inca customs and traditions. They will make your trip a unique experience together with the entire expedition team.
Porters and Muleteers
On our treks to the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu and other trekking destinations in the Andes, you will be supported by our porters and muleteers.
The porters are strong men and women from high Andean communities, naturally Quechua-speaking, who carry the luggage and ensure that it is always ready for use. They are essential on routes such as the 4 and 5-day Inca Trail, as well as on other expeditions that combine different trails.
On the other hand, muleteers are in charge of transporting equipment and supplies by mules or horses on alternative treks such as Lares, Choquequirao, Salkantay and Ausangate.
Our porters and muleteers are heirs of the Inca culture and are proud to be part of our team. In addition, we promote social projects in their communities and guarantee their welfare with an accident insurance.
